New Projects -
Fruitville Road
Wright has been awarded the contract for the widening of Fruitville Road, Phase 2 in Sarasota, Florida. This construction project will be the widening of the current two-lane road segment to four divided lanes, and includes drainage, four foot wide bicycle lanes, street lighting and signalization, 10′ wide concrete and paver sidewalks on both sides of Fruitville Road, water main and stormwater pipes for a 1.5 mile stretch of tree-lined streets.       
Work on widening Fruitville from I-75 to Tatum Road began in late September and construction is expected to be completed in September of 2010.  Wright Construction Group estimates put the price of the project at $8.5 million.

The design features incorporated into this project including the decorative asphalt, utilization of pavers for landscaped tree lined medians and street lighting featuring LED fixtures, will result in a beautiful, new ‘Green’ project that all of Southwest Florida will enjoy for years to come .”
Glades County Jail Renovation Projects. Wright has been awarded the contract for various renovations with the county jail.
C-111 Pump Station
A vital Everglades restoration project is underway after years of planning. As a beginning, the SFWMD approved the construction contract for a Pump Station with Wright Construction. The new pump station is part of the efforts to restore decades of environmentally destructive draining from Lake Okeechobee to the Everglades caused by a 15 mile long canal.
New Website
Each section of the new site is easy to navigate, offering "pull-down lists" for browsing on the home page. The lists organize complex areas of information so that the user does not have to dig through many levels of navigation to find the content they seek. Dynamic sub-navigation that relates to each specific list category is also used to simplify a visitors’ movement through the website. These are just a few examples of how Wright Construction Group wanted the design of their site to be configured, uncluttered and intuitive for all users.

Friends of Billy’s Creek Assist the City of Ft Myers and Wright Construction
with Cleanup of Filter Marsh Site
  
As part of the organization’s ongoing effort to clean and restore the Creek, the Friends of Billy’s Creek (FOB) assisted the City of Ft Myers and Wright Construction in  a littoral planting and  cleanup of debris on the site of the new Filter Marsh project in September. All citizens, groups, and clubs were invited.  
  
Community efforts to cleanup this urban creek are ongoing, including campaigns such as stormdrain marking, outreach to local schools, and kayak creek cleanups.  According to President Jerry Miller, “Every week I see more people enjoying Billy's Creek. It is a navigable waterway which is on the western side of the Greater Everglades Ecosystem.  It is a hidden paradise in the City of Ft. Myers.  Come and experience for yourself the history, natural canopy shade, wildlife and you never know what else you might see!  Thanks to all the FOBers out there that have taken part in all the cleanups over the past several years, it really has made a difference!”
 
Leading the way for the preservation of energy and fossil fuels is Wright Construction Group with their new solar powered trailer. Designed and commissioned to be built by Wright Construction Group, this trailer is the only one in existence which will provide an alternate power source at job sites with the energy of the sun. 
Running a generator to power job sites where no electricity is available in the past has required vast amounts of gasoline. Now with the solar powered trailer, workmen will run air compressors, saws, lights, nail guns, shop vacuums, office equipment and even the very important coffee pot and microwave for lunch.
Wright Construction will have full sized job trailers in the near future.
